TARGET COUPON POLICY:
Target has updated their coupon policy again. There are a couple of important changes so I wanted to share them with you.

Target does not accept internet coupons for free items with no purchase requirements.

This is unfortunate but completely understandable. I very rarely bother printing “free” coupons because very few stores will accept them.

Buy One Get One Free Coupons (BOGO):

1. BOGO coupons cannot be combined (i.e. you cannot use two BOGO coupons on two items and get both for free). Unless stated otherwise on the coupon, the use of one Buy One Get One Free coupon requires that two of the valid items are presented at checkout of which one item will be charged to the guest and the 2nd item will be discounted by its full retail price.

2. A second cents-off coupon of the same type cannot be redeemed towards the purchase price of the first item.

If a Target BOGO coupon is used, one additional manufacturer coupon maybe used on the first item.
If a Manufacturer BOGO coupon is used, one additional Target coupon may be used on the first item.
I have never heard of a store that will accept two BOGO coupons on the same two items, so I’m a little surprised that this is mentioned. It is generally known that you cannot combine two BOGO coupons.

I am glad to see them clear up whether or not you can use a 2nd coupon toward the item you’re paying for when using a BOGO coupon. I know this is a highly debated topic and is usually a matter of conscience, however when it is clearly outlined in the store policy then you must adhere to the store’s rules.

This also means you can no longer use coupons on items that you get for “free” with coupons. If you have a BOGO Target coupon then you can use a manufacturer coupon on the non-free item but not on the free item. If you have a BOGO Manufacturer’s coupon then you can use a Target coupon on the non-free item but not on the free item.
